         Family Constellations Therapy is a unique me thod of unfolding of hidden social dynamics . Developed in 1980 by German therapist Bert Hellinger. This therapy goes beyond what is seen on the surface and brings to the daylight the invisible loyalties, which bond people together. It works on emotions as well as on mind, on conscious as well as unconscious levels.

 

Families grow like trees..    Roots, often invisible, provide water, nutrients, support and stability to the trunk. Through the trunk, these elements reach and nurture the branches, leaves and flowers and nuts,  These, in turn, absorb the sunrays and transform them into energy, facilitating breathing and ensuring continuation of the tree's life. In this self-organizing life dynamic, certain rules must be respected, in order for the tree to thrive, or even just survive.

The family is a living, changing, growing,  balanced, dynamic, self regulating system, like the tree. Depending on our role within that system, and depending on what has happened to different parts of it, we are inevitably affected by its unique characteristics, for better or for worse.

         In setting up  Family Constellation, a family tree becomes an important tool that helps us uncover the family of origin.  In the roots of the  tree we can  see with greater clarity any possible lines of entanglement and hidden dynamics between family members.

 

Family Constellations therapy provides a unique opportunity for self-discovery and growth on all levels of being by putting us in touch with our deepest and most powerful inner resources. Once our emotional heritage  is recognized and understood, it will evoke feelings and direct our movements, allowing hidden dynamic to emerge along with their resolution and integration.
